A little about our honey:
During the year we offer several different types of honey, our Spotsylvaina made wildflower and our varietal honey. Wildflower is a generic term used when the source of the honey cannot be determined and when there are multiple sources. Mostly it is made from the nectar that is produced by trees. This is the reason why it helps so many people during allergy season. It has a wonderful flavor and changes as the season progresses.
Varietal honey is single source honey meaning the nectar gathered to make the honey comes from one plant giving it a natural flavor profile of that plant. We place hives on large farms that produce , for the most part, a single plant such as blueberry or butterbean. The plant imparts its natural flavor into the nectar before it's converted into honey giving it a flavor profile of that plant.
Crystallized honey: Crystallization of honey is natural and expected. It simply reverted to it crystalline structure and is just as good as when it's in its liquid form. If your honey crystallizes place it in a pot with an inch or two of water at medium heat and it will return to its liquid state.
Or not. Many people prefer crystallized honey.
We do not sell honey online nor do we ship it. That's why there are no prices on this site.
We do sell it at our home honey stand and the Spotsylvania Farmers market.
The home stand is a cash and carry stand open daily during daylight hours. Please do not come after the sun is down and please park on the asphalt driveway. It is self serve and prices are on the lids. If you need change you can knock on the door if we haven't already come out to say hello.
At the Farmers Market we except all forms of payment including SNAP. 12150 Gordon Road Fredericksburg, VA 22401 Open Saturdays 8 am to 1 pm. More information about the Spotsylvainia Farmers Market can be found on line
